Happy Sunday lovelies,

It's a beautiful morning here and as I feel the sun streaming in on my face, I thought I would share with you some thoughts I had as I was journaling this morning.  I am pondering the small steps I can make on a daily basis that will help me continue to move in the direction of my dreams.  It occurs to me that so much of my time is spent wishing, hoping and wanting to "do" certain things, both big and small  (start a blog, develop curriculums, lose weight, meditate more, drink warm lemon water in the am, walk the dogs and watch the sunrise, tidy up the house before work, watch the sunset, get up earlier, do more yoga, etc.). But not a lot of time is spent on actually "doing" those things. I am a master of excuses and corner cutting and "I'll do it tomorrow's" but not so great at "Ok, great! I have this idea AND I am going to implement it right now, as in TODAY!" I realized I don't spend a lot of time breaking those bigger goals/hopes/ideas down into step by step bites in order to be able to really accomplish them or at least begin to move towards them.

When I think about who I want to be and where I want to head in my life, asking myself these two questions helps me break down the steps to get there. And practicing taking on one thing at a time and letting it get secured into my daily practice before adding more is a helpful tip too. No need to overwhelm myself or set myself up for failure by taking on too much at once. For example, this week I have been getting up an hour earlier every day so I can start my morning practice with more space and calm and maybe even have space and energy to write. I make a hot cup of tea and meditate before the sun rises, I have time to journal and snuggle with my pups who also enjoy the morning meditation snuggle time. Having this extra hour, spent in the dark as it transforms into the light of a new day feels like a quiet, safe, secret place for myself and my hopes and dreams.

I am sharing this with you all in the hopes that (if it resonates for you) as you step into your day today this message helps you to stop and think about two important questions so you can begin developing your future self in the present moment. 1) Who do you want to be? ~ (in your relationship to yourself and your values, in your relationship with spirit, in your relationship with others, and in your behaviors, habits, actions and words?) 2) Where are you headed? ~ (what goals are you striving towards, what shifts are you looking to make to improve your life, what habits, behaviors and actions are you trying to start so they can generate a positive result in your life once established?)  I believe that by asking ourselves these two questions on a regular basis, it can help us to align our present with our desired future. By taking a few small baby steps and building a practice around them each day, we can build momentum towards our desired self and the life of our dreams. So ask yourself what small steps could you implement today to move in that direction? I hope this is helpful. Let me know how it's going and what you chose to do today to move in the direction of your dreams.

Big love,
d

Very timely Dawn, I was thinking the exact thing this morning, what can I do to move myself forward.., I tend to try either too many steps or too big of a step.. So ok for my little step is to not eat dairy this week. I will see if this transition helps my weight.
